Bernat, Patons, and Red Heart listings live on Yarnspirations. Lion Brand uses Level 1, Knit Picks and Cascade Yarns use Beginner, and Purl Soho uses beginner language. We group those together for discovery, then keep the publisher’s wording visible because the required techniques still vary.
A rectangle is forgiving. A hat introduces fit and circular work. Mittens add shaping even inside a beginner collection.
Super-bulky yarn moves quickly but produces large stitches; DK yarn is slower and creates a more refined fabric.
Check for circular needles, double-pointed needles, or Magic Loop before assuming the main stitch is the whole project.
