Free Baby Bootie Knitting Pattern

Cast on 50 sts. Work even 40 rows. Bind off 15 sts beginning of next 2 rows. Work even for 25 rows. Increase 7 sts each side work even for 18 rows. Decrease 1 beg of row for 6 rows.

Cast on 15 sts. Inc 1 st at beginning of row, every row, for 10 rows. work even for 30 rows. Dec 1 st, beg of row, every row for 10 rows, inc 1 st beg of row, every row for 10 rows. Work even rows bind off.

There are a million ways to make this vest.  Once you understand the shaping you can do anything with it: long, short, pullover, cardigan, textures, colors, cables - anything.  Instructions start with the easiest version knit in the round in stockinette st with a k1, p1 rib.  Several options are given later.

MATERIALS:

10 to 18 oz yarn, depending on size.

�Knitting needles in size to complement yarn:  lengths 24� and 16�.  For large size you may want a 32" needle.
